Engine Rebuilder Suggestions

Postby Boosted_162 » Sat Nov 07, 2009 11:27 pm

Well, its finally time to look into rebuilding my 3SGTE!
Wanting suggestions on who to use, prefer on the shore but will travel (within reason of course). Will be requiring just a tidy up of the motor + installation of forged pistons/rods etc. Not planning on headwork at this stage.

Would also prefer a place that will remove/reinstall motor for me, but if not possible thats fine, but keeping in mind my budget is about $5k (not including forged internals) im not sure if it will be in my budget...

Cheers

is that the place on hillside road up on the hill just before the right hand bend?

if so i agree! Glen does some wicked work.

If i were you, id at least pull the engine out and even pull motor apart, that will save you heaps.

Just remember to label your bolts etc (check my build thread for my bolt labelling skills) and keep all your parts together.

Sweet, might have to go have a talk to them then. I might pull it out myself, will depend on pricing for everything.

Cheers for suggestions so far :)

If needed, i have an engine stand you can borrow.. that way if you decide to pull it out yourself, you can put it straight on the stand for tear down.

Cheers, i think i do have a stand somewhere (shows how much use it gets )

Dont know if i trust myself to strip the engine and reassemble tho! And then it would probably take 5 months to complete as well
