Upgrading brake master cylinder - ae100 Corolla wagon - PICS

Postby XSVWGN » Tue Nov 17, 2009 1:38 pm

I just got a cusco master cyliner brace for the ae101 series and it looks like it doesnt fit. Not due to its construction but im pretty sure i have the standard 5afe cylinder in there.

Is it a simple upgrade process? for example would an ae101/ae111 trueno, levin etc have a large one that would bolt straight up in place?

Im putting in a 20v turbo engine so want good braking obviously

i put a mid 90's camry master cylinder in to my 1979 starlet as a straight bolt-on, so maybe a walk through pick a part with a tape measure would reveal some options.
current cars:
Evo 4 230Kw atw
1971 mini.
79 bugeye 245kw atw.
Evo powered mx5 under construction

Hilux 1" master cylinder bolts to aw11 booster with no mods.
Should do a search of toymods, they are really helpful.

i converted the driver from an ae100 wagon into an ae101 sedan and the booster on the 4age powered vehicle is deffinately thicker dude... i measured it with my cusco master cylinder brace too
When in doubt, down and out.

gaaa the 20v one i got was the same as mine afther the guy assured me it was the one i was after! so i think im after the opne with ABS as they are bigger and thats what i need.

The only reason im doing all this is so that my mater cylinder brace will fit :P i will find a way though... not going to give up ;)

Santa yea they make heaps of difference and B1NZ they do look pretty. They push against the master cylinder stopping any movement

ive got both. Both boosters and mastercylinders i have are slightly different. The 4age booster doesnt fit ... a hammer will need to be involved to his a small area in the engine bay and everything will be sweeet

if thats the case Matt, just take some measurements and Ill mod the brace to fit current mast cyl. May just have to repaint but no biggy. Theres actually a place out Wingate before melbar engineering that do powdercoating at a very reasonable price, just depends how pretty you want it.

If you get stuck mate let us know. Algood.
