Postby solberg Fan » Wed Dec 02, 2009 3:11 pm

Does any one know what the size and if it you use the original master cylinder in an old four runner with a Lexus V8 conversion? Im havving clutch problems and im suspecting the master cyl as its been changed at some point.

Thanks

Its a 1988 and running the standard 4wd box i believe.

The master cylinder is 22mm but unsure of imperial fraction. It has the markings "M-32" and cant see any toyota markings on it so i guess its aftermarket.

I had issues when I did a conversion not entirely the same but I couldn't get the right amount of throw to completely disengage the clutch unless it was completely on the floor.

Issue was related to the release bearing being too "stubby"

Yeah that was my first thought but i changed it to a longer bearing but its still along way of disengaging.

Any one else?

change the length of the rod that pushes the fork, or would that load up the bearing to much.

The 2nd thrust bearing I put in had the push rod pressed up hard against the fork. I figger it should actually have a bit of clearance so the bearing isnt turning all the time.
