Import All Stars - Finally 10's :)

Postby Py7h0n » Mon Dec 07, 2009 9:02 am

Had a great day yesterday at Import All Stars! Very small crowd for such a big event, especially considering the amount of pro cars running.

I ran a personal best of 10.654 @ 205.1KmH which I am extremely happy about as my previous best was a 11.4. Shows there is a lot in launching properly :)

Video of my run for those interested :)

Loved the supra! Was standing track side and was momentarily distracted by somebody in the stands, turbo came on song right as you went past me and I just about fell over.

From all the runs I observed you really need to leave the line with some more steam, pretty well demonstrated by the 10 second run. I don't know a thing about the auto setup you're running but would something like a 2 step rev limiter/launch control style allow you to build boost without destroying things?

Letting off the gas was stupidity (could have been quicker) and getting rid of a wobble :P

Best 60 foot was that run - a 1.784.

I really need to get my torque converter set for a higer stall to use the larger turbo properly or finish installing my NOS and use that off the line to get it moving :P. Thought about using my launch controller but could not be bothered cracking the laptop out and fiddling with the setup at the strip!

I was watching the vid, and I was thinking

"Why did he lift off accelerator so quick...."
"Why did you coast past the finish lines..."
"Oh... is it over already?"

*rewind vid... count 10 sec*

"oh damn!"

Grats.
No "stance", no "hellaflush", none of that bullshit. Nothing but no grip on full boost.

Thanks :)

I was expecting a 10 but only like a 10.9 or so because I'd just run a 11.03 the run before. 10.654 was very unexpected and I really hope I can get a fair bit more :)

Having witnessed that run up close and personal I'd say there's definitely much more to be had off the line which generally becomes a much larger advantage at the end of the track. Would think 10.1-10.2 wouldn't be out of the question with the turbo spooled up on a day like that! Seriously impressive stuff, congrats.

Well done man!

Sounded like you needed to let it spool for a while longer? It was spooling up really nice and sounded like it had a little more to go before you took off?

Pretty sweet as run dude! Sounded nice and smooth. Shame you had to back off!

Bring on a LOW 10 next? hehe
