Random things happening on the road

Postby cole86 » Thu Dec 31, 2009 8:23 am

Have seen quite alot of random shit happen on the road! but lastnight was epic!

I was driving from my parents place in howick, back out to where me and my partner are staying out south. I normally take Stancombe (temple) road and go up the back way :D

I was sitting at the intersection that leads to whitford if you go left, or if you hang a right it goes over that terrible new bridge on chapel road. And straight goes onto murphys road!!! So I am sitting there on the red, rolling a ciggie as quickly as I can before the green when I hear what I assumed (correctly) was a skyline. I look up and around to see if I can see it but all I can hear is the noise coming from the right!

Then all of a sudden BOOM this r32 couple comes flying around the corner from my right (which is that new road off that ugly new bridge) onto murphys road. The thing is this skyling was _SIDEWAYS_ like epic angle...it was sideways before I even saw him come around the corner. Was already full locked...and the dude makes it perfect aswell like a pro~ and then just BOOST'S it up murphys...

Was pretty epic...put a smile on my face :)

Anyone else got any random storys of crazy shit they have seen?

p.s. if the skyline owner is on these boards (aware this is a toyota site) I will give you a box for your efforts

I watched my brother drive through an intersection at full tit and almost get nailed by a 4x4.

I still see it clearly in my head.

I don't think he knew wtf he was doing.

Hahahaha yeah it was $&#$% freaky and weird to watch...

Also please don't read into my post as support for this kind of stuff the only part I liked about this is that when I was sitting at the lights rolling a ciggie and look up to see drifting :O It was very random (and abit confusing)

Me and the other cars sat there looking at each other like...wattafuck...

Anyways, i would have been more excited if it was an aw11 *drool*

you haven't seen random until a lady with her boyfriend driving climbs over the back seat off their car, lifts up her skirt and starts masturbating in front of you while your driving your truck

then again, I was just leaving Bulls, so alot of strange shit does go on around there.

Been sitting at a set of traffic lights which are split off've the main highway as you enter upper hutt, I was first in the que and my mate was 2 cars back. Waiting for the red I hear the sound of a car locking its brakes on, looking in my rear view mirror I see a hilux surf on 30"+ tires barreling towards us and it slid all the way down the shoulder to just behind me. There was a bout 6 cars behind me 8O

Thought that was cutting it fine.

Been in that situation again joing a que of traffic during peak hour leaving town, join que - car behind me does the same - car behind him not paying attention again locks up and slides into car behind me, luckily I wasn't hit.

BUT the best thing I ever saw was as I was heading south through the Terrace tunnel and late model BA falcon starts doing d1's in the fast lane going the opposite direction just at the southern end of the tunnel. Goes out've his lane into mine in front of me, d1's it back out he's so close I can see him trying to switch full lock left and right, and the look on his face is pure OH SHIT, traffic is heavy but moving, he stoves into the side of someone in the far lane heading north then d1's back behind me and takes out the golf that was following me. Who does that in a tunnel...

Ended up stopped across 2.5 lanes, I got to call the flashing lights in. Said SEND THEM ALL, GUY IN THE FALCONS PAYING

Motorsport is like sex. You could take it to track and have a long, enjoyable session, or you could take it to the strip and get it over with in less than 20 seconds.

Skyline (OP) wasnt a candy-pink 32 coupe with a black bonnet was it?

as to the funny/random things ...

once driving down the main st of the thundering metropolis of Kaikohe saw 3 maori kids kicking a dead cat down the rd...(overcast day, no-one else around - couldnt stop laughing for a good half hour. one of those "had to be there" kind of moments)

about 5 years ago driving a truck, on G.S.R in greenlane, crawling traffic, saw some dude having a wank in the car next to me...FML. Needless to say he was driving a honda (old shape accord)

2 weeks ago got overtaken on the southern m/way by a 95ish impreza wagon (non-turbo), decided to catch up to it, she (!) was doing some pretty decent speed (easy loss of license), caught right up, went around her on the left to have a look-see. The car contained
1) Herself - in the drivers seat
2) a Basset-hound (?) (sad-looking dog that drools all the time)in the passenger seat
3)a random small dog in the back (seats folded down, whole lotta crap plied up behind the front seats
4) THREE cages with cats in them in the back/boot, on top of some junk
5) another cat loose (not in a cage) sitting on a blanket or whatever it was in the back.
Possibly there was more wildlife scattered around the place but I was trying to keep my eyes more or less on the road as we're doing speeds close to V-max of the n/a subbie

I was heading south from whangarei a few years ago and saw a van pull out of a forestry road, went and over took him and noticed all the windows bar the drivers and half the windscreen were tinted "green".

Somehow that didn't supprise me but you must be pretty game to drive down SH1 in broad daylight with a van packed full of weed...

Sounds like me when I was young.

Once when it was drizzling, was at Birkenhead highpoint (KFC intersection), did a 3/4 lock skids in busy traffic while turning right, little do I know a cop was watching the whole thing couple cars behind me, nothing happened though.

Spun out while attempting a drift, little do I know the performance of my new nankangs at the rear ain't that great. Someone in a van on the opposite traffic gave me the thumbs up....... GG......
No "stance", no "hellaflush", none of that bullshit. Nothing but no grip on full boost.

Having dinner at indian restaurant on New Years eve, 8pm. Hear this massive sound increasing in volume and look out window to see a VE series Walkinshaw Commodore zip by at 140+ KMH on Victoria St in Hamilton (50kmh zone).

Followed 4 seconds later by a much slower police car doing about 100 kmh.

Nothing in the news about it, but assume driver was drunk and didnt want to lose licence.

My mates lost his license 3 times for doing shit like that (skids on public roads) Also owes the council $10,000 for a powerpole he wrote off.

Ive seen a S13 do the same thing out of gossamer drive onto pakuranga highway, do S's up the road then spin his car.

Seen a Rav4 roll right infront of me doing about 40kmh up medowlands drive.

Seen a car mount a curb and go through the front of someones house on the cascades road/botany road intersection.

I think its just East. People just cant drive.....
