Stop buying ciggies will help and tell your mates you have quit (key term being you HAVE quit not ARE quitTING). If someone offers you a smoke you say "no thanks, I don't smoke" rather than "sorry i'm trying to quit".

Likelihood of #4 is slim.. But ill give it a go

Ditching this attitude will also help greatly.

Just stop. it's what I did.
And don't go out drinking for 2-3 months as that is when you will cave and buy a pack. then you will have left and think "oh well may as well finish the pack..." and then your at it again.

This year may see a running Imp. Or it may not...

+1. Just decided one day I was sick of it so I stopped. Spending all your money on other crap helps too as you don't have money to spend when you feel tempted

It'd be much easier to quit smoking if they just banned ciggies altogether.
Motorsport is like sex. You could take it to track and have a long, enjoyable session, or you could take it to the strip and get it over with in less than 20 seconds.

Not being a pro smoker (even though I am a smoker) If the government banned smoking altogether, The country would go to the pack, as a majority of the price of a pack goes to the government, Same with alcohol.

That is probably why the price of cigarettes keeps going up as more and more people are smoking, they are realising that they arent getting as much money.

So I consider myself doing the government a favour by smoking :)

Check out your local ward with the lung patients. :? Been there (not a smoker) and theres only so many times you can hear "i'm afraid its too advanced so the best we can do is make you comfortable" kind speeches you hear through the curtains.

If that doesn't put you off smoking, nothing will. Smoking is weak, I feel sorry for those that smoked when it was cool and healthy, as they knew no better. I have no sympathy for those that smoke these days when its known how bad it is.

Hell, I can't even convince my old man to give up smoking and hes seen first hand what happens... each to their own demise I guess.

So anyway, this here Fred needs more positive resolutions
