Postby matt dunn » Wed Jan 06, 2010 11:13 pm

There is racing this weekend,
and going by the tickets I got with my entry looks to be a big event?

I will be there running in OSCA class,
so if anyone want to se me get my arse kicked,
(unless it rains, then should be the other way around)
come and say hi.

How did you go? Saw you Saturday (I was supporting Andrew Cundall, Yellow Corolla, VQ35 turbo) just didn't get much of a chance to say hello. Your car looked reasonably quick compared to some of the OSCAR cars and appeared to be running very well.
I'm not a circuit guy so I couldn't pick the class of cars you were tussling with... however some looked very expensive!

That Cundall car is very quick.

OSCA is basically what is left of the TraNZam series, so most of the other cars are all spaceframed,
and I think I am the only car not running slicks,
but the cars I was competitive with were the Commodore that is quite well know as Ian Munt's old commodore, and the two C5 Corvette's that run all the enduro's,
both of which are probably worth way more than the corolla.

the only other car in my sub-class was the AE86 with the Nissan CA18,
but I race and compete well with the other cars in the higher classes,
as I'm aiming for an overall placing in the series too.

The C5's are very sexy, sound fantastic but don't appear to perform. I was amazed at how slow they were given the speed of the field.
When I left the AE86 was having problems with water cooling for the brakes. The tank was just being consumed too fast and they needed a tonne more water.
You didn't appear to lack corner and braking speed due to lack of slicks. I placed my two GoPro HD's in Andrews car and I know that he couldn't keep the back end from kicking out. It made for a very slow introduction of power. Makes me wonder why I'm searching for more HP when I'm running a similar engine on dirt.
I wouldn't have been surprised to see you give the GT40 a hurry up.. you certainly weren't slow out there.
