Oldschool Trackday 26th Feb, Taupo Track 2

Postby spencer » Wed Feb 10, 2010 9:09 am

Oldschool.co.nz is having its anual nationals & trackday

http://www.oldschool.co.nz/phpbb/viewto ... 28&t=20664

track 2 is booked for the 26th of feb, we are struggling for numbers so we have opened this up to other clubs. Older cars are prefered (pre 90's) but we will take anything at this stage (there's a 350Z running). The deposit is paid so this will go ahead and they have been a great success in the past. There is a form to fill out in the above link if you are keen. Cost is $135 per car, our structuring of the day is pretty lax, so you will get alot of track time. Also feel free to stay at with us on the friday at the silver fern and indulge in a few brews

Past events have a sweet array of cars

car must either have a WOF or be up to a WOF standard, need cotton overalls, and a helmet. That's about it. Oh and the car can't be obnoxiously loud as Taupo have db limits they have to adhere to, but doubt you would breach that. It's really easy to get onto the track actually.

So we've got a nearly finished race car which is undergoing it's rollcage homologation and log book application now but will not have them by the time of this test day.
The car is not road legal and not warranted or warrantable but will pass any track scrutineering once the paperwork is completed. OK?

Yes thats fine, be awesome to have you there! there is nothing in the track rules for these test days that state it has to be up to a warrant standard. All it has to be is safe, and pass a basic scrutineering. I know my last car I took would have never got a warrant. Biggest rules we get told by the track are cotton overalls/racesuit, helmet & windows up on the track, Oh and no skids

Raleigh 20' is optional

TRD Man - It's not running under permit so you aren't required to have homologation for your cage. I assume you'll have it up to schedule A standard? In which case, no issues.

Yes, it'll meet Sched A.

We'll try and make it up.
