Toyota Surf Manual

Postby simplyal » Sun Feb 14, 2010 9:48 pm

Hi,

I'm trying to get hold of a workshop manual for my 1991 hilux surf, 2.4 turbo diesel.

I want to learn about my truck and be able to take it apart and repair it. I am a mechanical engineer so would like to know more than where diesel goes!

Firstly, Is it a workshop manual that i'm after? If so where's the best place to purchase one.

yeh man, haynes manuals are pretty good. in terms of pulling it down bolt by bolt and rebuilding it. you should also research how a diesel engine works as it doesnt explain 'how' a diesel engine works, this is vital to being able to understand the workings of a car/ute/truck.

can be bought through repco/supercheap etc

Some of the info at this site may also be useful - at least something to read over while you find the full manual: http://www.toyotasurf.asn.au/techsite/downloads.htm
