A lot of people can't see the speedo's in MR2's by just quickly glancing downward - especially in the 80-120km/h range. I know I had to move my head a bit to see it depending on the height of the steering wheel.

This coming from the guy that can't afford to pay his fines off when they are due. (possibly for speeding?) Don't throw stones

Steering wheel in the way is a good point too iOnic, I can't see 50-60km/h etc in my car due to the low height I have my steering wheel

No offense.

Maybe I'm missing the point.

Maybe there's a really good reason? lol

Im trying to figure out if your a troll or just had the good fortune of being the biggest guy at your school so never had to think about how you said things

I'm going to assume your not trying to be a jerk and actually think you are contributing to the thread,

iOnic and bling have a point... at my height i cant see 100km/h with the steering wheel how i like it.

But the fact remains that i take the law quite seriously, and if i break the road rules i will accept the fine that comes. Because of that i drive to a particular limit and no further but like to keep at that limit. On a long trip it really gets exhausting having to continually monitor my speed to ensure im doing 108ish, id like to be able to see what speed I am doing without taking my eyes off the road.

that ok with you mate? :D

WTF? The biggest guy at my school? Doubt it mate. And I'm not just some out of school chum.

Wasn't trying to be a 'troll'. Just trying to get your reasoning.

Sheesh you people need to lay of the crack a little - paranoid much lol

But yes - thank you for answering the question. Makes perfect sense.

Yeah, wasn't trying to say you are fresh out of school - it was my attempt at making light of what i found to be pretty offensive.

So if I was to say how can you be so retarded to do such and such, you'd consider that an appropriate way to ask a question? That's pretty rude whichever way you look at it. You can ask questions nicely you know if you can't understand what's been posted.

All good though, we got there in the end.

Could you wire up a light - like the 'overspeed' lights in Holdens etc?

That not a bad idea at all, a few staged leds for different limits...

I might see if jaycar has any kits that do pulse detection etc.

...or you could wire up 3 oversize tachos on the dash like that awesome VR4 from wellington that was on Trademe a while back (It was known as the 'shark' or something? Hideous)

I have the RSM hooked up to the JZA80 electronic speedo sensor.

I have mine set to 105 and as the speed approaches, flashes get faster to warn.. Coolness!
