What does a mitsi tach interface look like?

Postby thegreatestben » Sun Feb 28, 2010 7:42 pm

Apparently I need one to get my tachometer in the mr2 to work with the link.

What does it look like and where in the car is it located?

Hmm, must be on the coil bracket on the galant I pinched the ignitor and bracket from. Can you take a pic of one for me?
I'll just go get one from pick a part.

Do I connect that to the tach wire on the ignitor, then from the interface to the ign wire?

The interface has 2 input wires and 1 output.

They are designed to run with twin coil setups, so each 2x '-'ve off the coils to the interface 'in' I think its labelled, then 'out' to tacho '-'ve

Oh ok, Just I am using mitsi twin post coils and matching ignitor.
And the ignitor has:

IB1
IB1
OC1
OC2
12v in
GND
Tach

Seems strange it would have a tach wire and then just use the -ve signals?

That igniter has the tacho interface built into it

the GND will be earthed to make the igniter part work
Feed ign 12V +ve to the 12v in and you will get the correct signal out of the tach terminal to drive a normla coil -ve driven tacho.
