LOLWUT?
Not sure if you're taking the piss out of me saying I actually rate it up there or not, might sound arrogant to others but the fact is I actually set off on a mission trying to build something that suits my wants the most for my budget and I'm actually pretty happy with what I have ended up with. It'll definitely not be for everyone, but the fact I have owned it for nearly 7 years, did a bunch of research and work on making it behave a particular way and still dig driving it means that I'd be lying if I didn't say its damn near my perfect "realistic" dream car. Otherwise, I'd not still want to keep it....

I am dubious of some of the suggestions others had put forward in this thread, to some degree I've gotta question why they don't own said beasties if they are realistic ;)

Maybe gen 3 MR2, or an ITR. Both should be fun to drive, but not silly expensive (or likely to depreciate horribly).

Same here.
Already have the XR8, and MR2 race car. That's enough in depreciating items for now. Am thinking of a FSAE style hill climb car, design and build at home tho.

Haha cheers, and very nice - will keep an eye out in the project forum next year :) They do some very cool stuff with those things Stateside too.... they have definitely got my attention, I prefer EVO 9s but they are pretty expensive.

I can fully see the chance that I'll end up with one of those two "rally based" beasties in the next year or so.

Have a quiet fettish for R33 25Ts.. You've done yours right.
If I didnt have the FD3S I'd snap up a 33 quicksmart, came dangerously close to buying one last year, but decided (stupidly in hindsight) to spend the money on the FD.

Hmmmmm, your probably the person to talk to about my little plan, and where to get particular parts.
Was thinking of BIG wings, but I don't think MSNZ lets you get away with them for competing automobiles. Was wanting to give the local Jedi hill climb cars a run for their money.

Awesome, cheers - you sound like me from an alternate dimension!

When I bought the Skyline, I had been on a long mission to buy an FD3S.. basically an R33 GTS25t and an FD3S were at the very top of my "Realistic dream car" list, with the FD3S ousting the R33.

I went around looking at and driving a few, and I ended up quite disillusioned at the state and pricing of the ones I looked at - basically no one maintained or modified them up to my standard for such a car and it meant I have to have the money not just to buy one, but to pretty rebuild the damn thing which meant really they were MUCH a more expensive proposition than they looked. Then my car showed up at a local card yard, for a good price. It became a no brainer and I admit I looked back a few times...

... I've since been around a lot of well modified RX7s and even been in my "dream spec" RX (ie, black, tough looking thing with a ported 13B/T51R SPL hanging off the side etc) and don't tell.... but while 600+hp in an RX7 is awesome awesome rofls I actually would rather live with my car, and suddenly FDs completely fell off my "Realistic dream car" list. Not the reaction I would have expected but thats the way it goes.

I still completely love them, but can't see myself owning one unless I had epic spare cash and used it only when I wanted to be scared.
