Can anybody identify the kit on our RunX?

Postby snwtoy » Thu Mar 18, 2010 9:00 pm

Car's just been rear ended - not too serious, but the bumper could be a writeoff. Concerned as I've heard of panelbeaters replacing with standard bumpers unless they can source the same replacement.

If you can identify this kit it would be very useful! It's uncommon, but not one of a kind - the little mesh grilles in the sides differentiate it from the most common runx kit I've seen.

The rear skirt looks exactly like the one I got from Toyota, try asking the Toyota dealer?

The front looks like most standard RunX Z kits, but haven't noticed any with mesh on the rear before.

Wouldn't be surprised if its a factory option kit.
The side skirts look very similar to the ones on my flatmates Fielder.
Motorsport is like sex. You could take it to track and have a long, enjoyable session, or you could take it to the strip and get it over with in less than 20 seconds.

Front has the mesh too, which is uncommon. Luckily I don't have to look for the front as well :)

i remember once finding a scanned original sales brochure for the corollas and the the standard kit could be optioned with or without mesh inserts at time of purchase.

Is the existing lip actually beyond repair? Its pretty amazing what they can repair

Spoke to the panelbeater today - the lip may indeed be repairable, but the bumper, hatch, and possibly lights are goneburger.

Good to know it souds like it's genuine toyota anyways :)

Ken-Style and C-One are popular Kits in japan for Toyota's.

Check out www.japanparts.com to see if they can help or have one listed.
