effective immediatley efpos nz merchant customers can now APPLY A SURCHARGE TO ALL VISA AND MASTERCARD transactions, how ever there are some ruls which govern how surcharges can be applied which you need to be aware of and must adibe by
* a surcharge may be applied as a percentage fee or a flat dollar amount and must be disclosed to the card holder prior to the completion of the transaction, you must give the card holder the opportunity to cancel said transaction
* the surcharge must be processed as part of the total amount of a transaction and not collected separatly
* the surcharge must bear a reasonable relationship to your costs of acceoting visa and mcard for payments

Hmm cause us lovely retailers who supply a price and a great service to you , generally always get beaten down in price , so we lose money to the customer then the bank takes it off us aswell its kinda of a double dip against us ,
and if we dont offer the credit , then the nice little customers wil walk away , we dont want you to walk away , but we also dont wana get double stung , so now simply we are offering the package but if you want it , u pay , its kinda simple really .
We get hit even worse when its amex , diners , q card or farmers , unfortunately gone are the days of everyone paying by cash , its all electronic and it all costs.
