Is there away to check syncros and gearboxes off a car.
The reason i ask is im looking at replacing mine and want to have a gauge on the condition of the box, the last thing i want to do is chuck it in and have it as bad as my last box.

Generally you give them a push up against the surface they're supposed to be acting on. If they're worn then there will be next to no gap. If they're new then there will be a gap when the surfaces meet. This is assuming you haven't stripped the box completely?
