Thursday night meets.

Post by Kermit12a »

Hi All

I am old/new and through that I would come down and catch up with people.

As the meet info still says 7.30 Thursday behind Animates I turned up and hung around till 8pm.

No one showed. 8O

Can someone please let me know if you are still meeting here?
Or if not where you are now meeting up?

Most people have got lazy and IF they go to a meet they generally just go straight to Burger Fuel in the Hutt.
Last year it got to the point where it turned into a Supra and Skyrine/Honda meet before we started going elsewhere and doing our own thing as there didn't seem to be any of the regular TS crew showing up.
You'll also find as it starts getting colder less people would be inclined to go out anyway.

Toyspeed gets massive turnout to the Slipway Autocross events.

In fact most of the organisers and helpers that run the whole series are Toyspeed.

+ we have bbq there too

So in other words.

Toyspeed is dead except for track days!!!

I have noticed the whole Thursday night Car thing has been quashed by the shutting down of the River Bank Car Park.

There are a few people that turn up at the Kilberne Warehouse but it is nicer to turn up to those things with a group of people that you know.

So do you still do Saturday or Sunday Drives at all?

yep, we drive to motorsport events

more seriously, i am more interested in getting out and doing motorsport type events more than the type of events/meets that go on here. HCCC has events that are oriented towards what i want to do, so thats where i go.

Thanks Andrew.

Well it is good to see people still post.

But you may want to update your this is where we meet post being that you are the Moderator. It really does not look good to send potential new members on a goose chase that they will never get anywhere with.

I can see your point, however there is nothing to say that people dont go there regularly or at all, as AFAIK people do turn up on a thursday, just not necessarily every single week.

if thats not the case, then perhaps someone who does attend can advise me what the meet plans are on a thursday now so i can change them

I'd say flag the animates part, and replace it with

Burger Fuel lower Hutt, around 7.30-8 onwards. Look for a noisy bunch of hooligans.

To be honest most if not all people that go to burger fuel on thursdays actually dont post on toyspeed at all.
Only a small amount actually log onto toyspeed.
