390 KW it ran at 1.6 bar at Superlap.

There gonna lean on it again soon and are looking for around a number between 400-450 KW.

Was this at Shred Industries recently? Saw a very wide looking supra being loaded onto a trailer late-ish one night.

They have chosen Aaron at Shred over Andre at STM purely on price of the tuning.

Yes Jono Lister and Earl Bamber were given the car as the owner wanted to find out what the car could really do.They gave the owner alot of good feed-back aswell.I found the most interesting thing they said was go for no more power as this will slow the car down in there opinion.

They both said that the strongest part of the car was the brakes I found this hard case as the brakes and rotors are basically what you get off a stock TT Supra the 4/2 pots.

This car still weighs 1480 Kg with half a tank of gas and less a driver,so basically with the owner driving it will still weigh 1570-80ish so it definitely needs to lose 200 kgs where I'm not certain but doing this will help heaps.

Wait, what - are you talking about Jarred with the Silverish (and drawn on with green marker) EVO thing? A mate of mine called Jarred with a GSR RS that looks like an EVO that has way way under 450kw ran 1:17s in street class....

Maybe I'm confused - could have been this guy:
Jason Lovejoy Mitsubishi Lancer Superlap - Street 23 1.23.21 1.18.00 1.19.55

I'm talking about the black one with aftermarket tail lights and poor race lines :P .

Cheers Jono! Your pit-exit backfires killed my ears  . Earl didn't achieve anywhere near as much exhaust pop or wheelspin.

Pro Street for Jarred.

That black one came past work a couple of times down Maire street lighting up all 4 wheels. Hilarity.

The owners dream is to get a proper series up and going with these cars.Formula JZ he reckon's he wants to call it.I told him he's dreaming but if he can get high profile people like yourself and Earl Bamber onboard I think maybe it could be a possibility as you guys can show off the real potiential of the Supra where as most Supra owners are Drag racing orientated.

Dave rung me last night and Earl enjoyed himself that much he's looking to buy a Supra.Dave is seeing if he hjas one in his collection so he can accomodate him.Apparently Earl spoke to Jonny Ried and he already own's one aswell.

I said to Dave aswell while your there he may aswell sell one to Evo 88U and then we'd have a swag of Supra's at the track...... 8) 8) 8)

If you can convince Justin Weir, John Shannon, Avinesh, Kevin Boyd etc off the strip. Then throw in the JZ powered drift boys and you've got a series!

Then you'll have a collection of Supra's who all go at different speeds.

Then they will divide into classes within classes.

Then somebody will turn up with a Supra that is built specifically to the series regulations, and they've spent a million bucks on, and they'll snot everyone.

Then there will be handicap racing.

The guy will drop another million bucks, and start two laps down and still win.

Then people will ditch the class, and start their own class that they can win. Then the people who don't win, will start their own class. Then the sport will say "why the hell are there 400 classes with 5 cars each in them". Then they will amalgamate into one series. Then it will return to the start again.

If this resembles how Super GT has happened in NZ, then this may, or may not be a coincidence, and I may or may not have watched them become six different classes all featuring the name "sedan" in it ... then go back to being just one class again.

Motor racing classes (by which I mean the politics of running a car class, not the actual racing) in NZ are seriously funny to watch, because they tend to follow a couple of patterns time after time.

I know V8 killer and Nitro both go to private track days in their cars.

Fast down the straight! not so great around corners with drag setup suspension and road tyres.

The best way to make a JZ class would be to join up with GTRNZ and run as part of their championship, then have a separate points table etc for just the JZ owners. That solves all the problems associated with getting sactioned or class breakups that Leon mentioned. We already have a lot of classes in the country, so find the one that is the most accomodating and jump in.

And TV costs too much :P :D .

It would be a great series so much fun to be had.Good reliable cars strong engines.Let brakes and suspension to whatever you like and away you go.

Limit HP to 450 slicks aloud keep the cars all in that 1500 kg weight range no lighter, limit boost to 18 psi.Lets go racing.

bah you will never get those guys to get into a series. Its hard enough getting them to a trackday hehe.

Are there any classes currently that limits boost ? I find it hard to understand how someone is going to check a cars power and boost pressure. hehe

Still a good idea but i think it would be hard.
