Its well documented that its price is its biggest downfall and when they said can it go 6 times faster than a GTR I thought what a joke can a Ferrari Enzo at twice the price of the LFA go twice as fast I thought surely there just taking the pi**.

Its a halo model and has technologies that in the future will be handed down through the Toyota range.500 being made so exclusivity will also up the cost and everythings been done from scratch 9-10 years of R&D so I mean as above its hardly going to be a bargin basement car also the Lexus badge it just all costs.

They say its no faster than this it can't do this but when I think fast if you put it on a track with its main opposition the top of the line Aston Ferrari 599 Mecedes SLS Gullwing I'm thinking on just about any track the LFA is having its way with the lot of them so in my mind when they say fast I'm thinking its Track fast.

I read somewhere that from Idle it can hit redline in just 0.65 of a second at WOT in Neutral, no tacho I know of would keep up...

S2000 is too easy. Motorbike tachos don't seem to struggle too much either... and I doubt the car is ever going to go through a gear faster than the tacho can keep up with.

All sounds pretty wanky to me

Everyone that is buying one of these knows exactly what they're going to be getting....

On another note, I hate how people keep comparing it to the GTR, just because they both come from Japan, does not mean they should be compared. Although the LFA costs 6 times as much as the GTR, it does not mean it has to be 6 times as fast, as said before, is the Ferrari Enzo going to be twice as fast as the LF-A? Would the Enzo even beat the LF-A on the track? Who knows? Which one would be more fun to drive?.... I'm putting my money on the LF-A for that one.

The two cars are in different leagues all together, the LFA will be more refined, faster, probably more comfortable, more reliable, and more exclusive than the GTR, all of which demands a much higher price tag.

I would have to say it's probably my most favourite car of all time.
Cheers,
Brandon

agree with everything but that^ a faster car is never more comfortable,
having a v10 screaming at your ears, sitting in a extremely rigid carbon cabin, with what is racing suspension,

they compare it because in most peoples eyes a toyota/lexis is no where as refined as an Italian,

But they have the most consistant panel gapping in the executive saloon market!
Motorsport is like sex. You could take it to track and have a long, enjoyable session, or you could take it to the strip and get it over with in less than 20 seconds.

Apples, oranges etc.....
LFA floats my boat. Cost doesn't matter to me because I can't afford any of the cars mentioned in this thread

If you're like me, when you see a car, you don't take certain things into account.

Eg It being "Just a Lexus", or its price etc.

It just boils down to how awesome it is. Its fast. It sounds fast. It looks fast. It corners fast.

Couldn't give a toss about anything else really.

Well, for the price tag at least they could have put other than generic Phillips screws on those spoilers.

Would that make it go faster?

Note the little square on the bumper underneath the LFA logo.

I'd say the screws were some sort of mini spoiler testing thing. I'm sure the boys on Top Gear would have picked up on them.

Yup, would be present on a production model, not a prototype.

The one with the screws looks like its some sort of post production testing.

Shoddy workmanship now how does a hand built bespoke V-10 motor sound for workmanship or a carbon fibre tub all done in house at Toyota so I'm thinking Shoddy workmanship and the LFA are just not in the same planet.
