At 9000 RPM the LFA's pistons are moving at 25 metres per second thats the closest thing out there to an F-1 motor and could well explain why they needed that digital rev tacho.

Even the brake callipers a fixed in the position the are for optimal weight and best inertia position when under full load.

I would think again with all the Ring testing that it would be fairly reliable.

When they did the 24 hour race the red-line was set to 8500 rpm with no reliability issues.They originally specced the motor to rev to 10,000 RPM but Toyota wanted the reliability so they pulled 1000 rpm out of it for reliability sakes.

I personally think it will be probably the most reliable Supercar on the planet this and whatever the top of the line Porsche is.

if we compare this to the mighty GTR, reliability wise,
the GTR engine needs to be rebuilt every 50,000k's
complete dare down for plasma bore relining,
the active damper suspension has to be re calibrated aswel,
info coming from GTR owner,
he wants to sell it if any one is interested, wants a r34vspec instead,

Yeah agreed with the GTR, but I never claimed the GTR would be really reliable

The engine rebuild every x kms are a few of the oddball manufacturers recommendations, doesn't mean its going to fail if you don't - they just cover their ass. I saw a video with an interview with a Honda technician dude (can't remember all the details as it was years ago) and was a bit shocked to hear him say that a Type-R B18C should be rebuilt every 80,000km and the gearbox oil etc etc should be changed every 10,000km.

I don't know anyone who has done either, and the only TypeR engines I've seen break so far have been to do with nasty tuning on a turbo one or a misjudged downshift.

All speculation anyway, we'll see how they go!

More on reliability well the Lexus LF-A won the 2010 SP-8 class at the VLN 4 hour race which is the build up race to the actual 24 hour race recording a fastest lap of 8.38 while they may sound not right it is as its the normal ring lap plus the GP track combined.

The Gazoo Racing prepped car finished 17th overall.

So with this car I'm thinking reliabilty will not be an issue.
