Brakes - Bendix VS C-Plus

BRAKE PADS:

Bendix $98.59
C-Plus $59.25

First thing i note is the price difference, but that really doesn't bother me too much.
Right so i have (3 Mechanics) looking into car stuff for me, i asked them all the difference and:

NOISE- 1 said Bendix is the best brake pad on the market, however the other 2 said they have had complaints about Bendix being noisy, and skweeky when wet.
PROFORMANCE- All 3 admitted they were of the same high standard and gave a great performance for track and heavy braking situations.
LIFE- All 3 said C-Plus has a longer lifespan as Bendix seems very dusty and wears faster.


Now i know these guys are mechanics but has anyone got any feedback?

bendex what tho... they have shit pads and decent pads too... by that i mean road right thru to full race stuff...

bendix have got way over priced recently
and c plus are pretty new i think so not many people will have experience with them, but at that pricing its obvious what to pick

Are these mechanics normal everyday workshops parts swappers or proper techs with race experience?

What are you using them for? I am guessing 99.99% everyday driving with the hope of doing a track day at some point?

I would probably go for genuine ones.
If you are going to do several track days, then maybe look at getting a better set to use at the track.

i was thinking more, 70% road use and 30% track.
Im not sure what bendix they were looking at, and the only one that has the track racing experience reccomended C-Plus.
I might just go with the cheaper option for now, to save money to use on shocks, they are looking a little expensive.

If you plan that much track use for it, then definitely get track specific pads.

I find stock pads to be pretty average tbh in my ae111. Would certainly go for something a bit better next time.

Did you get stock levin/sprinter ones or stock corolla ones? There is a difference

had bendix ultimates in my skyline while i had it. tad expensive at $200 retail but well worth it imho, no complaints at all!

The good Bendix pads are good, their cheap ones are pretty meh. Myself and a few others have used TRW/Lucas pads for occasional track jaunts with no issues of fade. Bit dusty though!

I also had Bendix Ultimates, in my R34, pretty nice pads, but heaps of dust...
Even though Repco had a big thing about them being 100% no dust, blah blah...

Forester had a genuine Subaru.

So can only really give the thumbs up for Bendix, being good stopping power and not to noisy.

They were only a quarter the size of the ones I took out, that an issue? :lol:

So what's a good value great performing road pad? I don't do tracks as don't want to put a leg out of bed, but like to be able to stop fast if needed.

I recently got some Ferodo DS2500's (With either an S or Z suffix, can't quite remember) for the fronts and some Mintex (Which I also can't remember the model of) for the rear.

They're great pads, as they grip from cold, and still have heaps of grip when hot, and very little fade.

Was an upgrade package from Race Brakes.

Hawk HP + (what I have in the Honda, have handled 3 track days with no worries stopping a heavy car)

Ferodo DS2500 (what I had in the DC2R, but VERY expensive...)

Mintex 1144, 1166 are largely gay.

Luke I'd probably just stick with something like the Bendix Ultimates, or the TRW's for your app, they'll handle some sporty street driving and will work ok from cold still.

Im a fan of mintex 1166's (from racebrakes) ran them wih great success in my Levin club car (on brembo slotted rotors, braided lines, elf race fluid). Fantastic bite and no fade lap after lap at manfeild.

I also run them in my Evo 9 GT and they pull it up really well. Especially compared to the factory brembo pads.

Yes they can be dusty and a bit noisy but I solved the noise problem with the black backing material you can buy from BNT.

For limited track day use, bendix or similar should be fine. Its more important to change your fluid to something decent (Penrite SIN 600 for example) and keep it fresh.
