Grass event are generally "easier" on cars than sealed motorkhanas and a paddock is usually easier to find than a piece of tarmac, Your car will just get dirty thats all

Just because your car is on stilts!! :P

Dont know that they'd like the idea, given that the back track is available.

If you came for a ride with me on Sunday at the gravel sprint in Levin you would realize my car is not on stilts, I did a bit of damage as it's too low, prob not too much higher than yours as it's currently sitting on low king springs

If you need to drive on angles over judder bars etc your car doesnt deserve to be on a road, heaven forbid you hit a pothole one day

Speaking of, I saw a silvia last weekend get stuck coming out of BP Johnsonville, his car was too low and he was beached on his front and rear kit with his wheels in the air, I lol'd

the back track at manfield makes for awesome motorkhana :D

would very much like to see the full track being utilized though.

If it is a club sport basic event you don't need to have a MSNZ licence however if you have done two events with out a MSNZ club membership you will have to obtain one of these. I'm pretty sure memeberships can be sorted if people need them with some local clubs. (pokes HCCC president)

I think first off before we get into all the ‘what do I need’ and ‘how much does it cost’ we need to figure out who is running it, is it going to be under a MSNZ permit and all those good things. :)

So with that said… can we have an answer? Who’s running it? ;) Brad? Julian? Manawatu? Habour Capital? LevinKid? Brendon?
If that hasn’t been decided due to lack of options I’m sure that out of the Wellington TS group we can find all the officials needed to run a successful event… after all, Wellington TS is pretty much all motor-sport people these days. :P

Failing that how about we go old school TS and do a track day like we used to... Ahhh the good old days of Taupo madness. 8O  Alas those days are gone... too many rules now. :)

I'm not stressing :)... only want to know how its run so I can make up my mind if I want to play for the day.

October is ages away for sure. On that same weekend there are now three different events that I could enter in. Just want some details so I can make up mind which ones would be the best bang for my dollar. ;)

It was run under club sport last time and happened just fine and dandy. It’s far from silly to do it that way because the organisers are protected by the MSNZ insurance if something untoward happens.

It’s all about details, so people can make an informed choice if they want to come. I've run a huge amount of events so I know what is involved in making it all happen, part of that is letting the punters know some details. I’m not intending to offend anyone… just want to know the haps.

my sentiments as well. if i can find someone to double run at another event that weekend, i am considering bringing a toy up, if not, i will look at other options. details are what helps make descisions, especially when there is considerable expense involved.

if push comes to shove, i can renew my Rally 'B' CotC and scrutineers ticket if it means guys who would otherwise be running the trackday can also have a skid.

At this stage, Julian/MCC will be running it, HOWEVER - he may not be available to run the day. I did make mention of the many HCCC members we have so if he is busy then we can probably run it all ourselves.
Please bear in mind, I've only had the track booked for a week or so, I've not had a chance to sit down with Julian and go over the final details.
Also bear in mind the track day is NOT Mega Meet, merely a component of it....lots of people seemed to lose sight of that last time
