Did you grab the gauge cluster?
Motorsport is like sex. You could take it to track and have a long, enjoyable session, or you could take it to the strip and get it over with in less than 20 seconds.

man 300 for the shell is pretty rich, they pay less than that for complete cars and last i heard were struggling to find people to take away scrap.

to anyone considering getting it, keep in mind you'll need a good ownership paper trail if you want to get it back on the road, as it will have been de-registered.

from what I understood, you just need a letter from the police saying they have no interest in the vehicle

Pity I am not up your way or have money!

I was just sort of thinking how cool it is to see people with a passion for something like this (a specific car) and given its rarity want to save it.

Really awesome to hear of actually. I hope one of you guys can snatch it up as it would be a huge waste and there definately seems enough enthusiasm from a few people to bring it back to life.

All the best boys, its a good cause 8)

i would poss be in on it, but i still have to finish the current celica in the garage

the main issues I see would just be getting the group A mechanical bits and bobs to return it back to group A status. The car itself is just a st20x shell except for a couple of extra removable pieces of metal in the cabin.

I'd poss look at going for st215 running gear as the majority of gear can be fitted to the st205 and its a far more abundant source than trying to find all st205 parts.

its still a group A , at the end of the day .. finding an unmodified on is near impossible anywhere in the world , let alone in NZ or oz, because aftermarket support improved alot of the factory fitted issues.

you can still get pretty much all group A bits , if you know where to find them , and are willing to wait ..

The car doesnt have an engine so its a good candidate for reshelling, Rallying/racing or rebuilding..

300 bucks is change for a collector or an enthusiast to start an epic prohject, and we are blessed with the4 ease of parts out of japan here in NZ
