Totally can, I took my mostly standard KE70 wagon out on Manfeild and had a ball.
1988 KE70 Wagon - Slowly rusting 1990 NA6 MX-5 - because reasons 2018 Ranger - Because workcar 1997 FD3S RX-7 Type R - all brap, all the time OMG so shiny!
bit of a bump for the old thread - anyone want to reccomend some rim sizes for ease of obtaining decent tyres etc?
obviously bigger wheels will let me fit bigger brakes at some stage too... i have the car now, and it currently has 13s on it. the tyres are not the best, so was thinking about getting some more suitable wheels for it at the same time. thoughts appreciated!
As above. Something around the 15x7 mark with a good offset (not rubbing) is the best place to start. Then keep an eye out for second hand semi-slicks or good road tyres and go for a burn.
I was thinking about this the other night and another important thing came to mind.
It's always good to have a trackday buddy - someone with a similar car that is keen for the same events. It means you can keep eachother motivated and lets each of you set benchmarks for the other one to reach... There's nothing better than an on-going competition between friends.
so you'd say 15x6.5 would be a min? looking at some 15x6 weds sports which i quite like, and they take a 195 okay. what sort of widths do you get semis etc in?
15x6 would be bare minimum... If they're cheap enough then no probs, but you will wear the outside shoulder of the tyres more. The bonus is 15x6 weds would weigh nothing.
