it can be anything from $500 - $3000 depending on whos doing it, how you want it, what the colour is, and if its a perky etc etc. I have a mate painting my Corolla wagon with door seals etc for $1500 as a perky. And thats a pretty good price

Also will depend on how much prep work it requires, any sub-standard repairs etc.

the cost of paint supply's alone is about $700

3.5 liters of colour $400
3 pots of Viagra $200
thinner $25
wipes $20
random $50
prepsal $40

the hours $ for prep is what you pay for, painting is very fast,
if your car is in a bad state with dings, cracks, flakes, that's when its not a quick scuff,n,paint.

this is enough to do my 3 door hatch ae85, and is good quality paint with good hook up from supplier.

if your going to keep the car its not worth a 'cheap paint job' imo, might be cheap now but later down the track...

Be prepared to spend many many many hours in the prep work, black is one of the worse base colors for showing up imperfections

Black must be a damn close 2nd for most common corolla colour  I have 2 in my garage alone :)

I would say doing a good prep job would be harder than the painting, so why not do both? 8)

FYI, I spent a solid 3 hours on just the front bumper for prep work, and it's still half-assed. took 3 mins to spray the primer on, it was "alright" but far from perfect.
