But they can be a bit slippery in the wet if your pushing it. Still they're 100 times better than MY-01's which are worse than almost any other tyre I have tried. Ice skates would be grippier than them in the wet.

RE001 doesnt seem to last to long. I have GT Radial Champiro HPX, they are a very good tyre

Also found that the grip isn't all the best in the wet with the RE001's, infact my 20v was able to spin a wheel in 3rd gear 8O
In the dry the are all good though

Don't get me started on MY-01's

I have done ~25k so far on RE001 and have ~ 4mm thread left. I expect it to last ~35-40k, which is ok.

That is very strange, most I have heard out of RE001's.

My father only got 30,000 km out of his in his outback

Well, I rotate them every 5k, and run them at 40psi.

Is that what they are meant to be run at, 40psi?

I find them best at 40psi. Especially in the wet. Also they wear out evenly at that pressure.

I'm running 205/40R17 at 32psi... might bump the pressure up a bit then!

I run my 215/40/17 at 40psi. Its what tyrecorp recommended as well. I get even wear and they seem to be lasting well.

Wait so 30,000km on a 4wd (i'm guessing here) you consider to be low mileage?

I'd be happy with that mileage, though I don't nana it so happily forgo some mileage for some spirited driving  tbh I would rather go tyres before they go hard from years in the sun than have them last longer but lose their performance. Which is what i'd imagine would happen.

Exactly what i've experienced. Must be all the torque the 20v's create

Likewise, I ran them at a VERY wet trackday at Taupo and wet grip was pretty impressive...

Ive found exactly the same, must have to do with weight (more lack of), the heavier cars seem to be fine in the wet, while the light ones suffer.
