97' toyota chaser tourer S price quote

Postby toms86 » Tue Jun 15, 2010 6:32 pm

I have a 97' jzx100 tourer s, auto, done about 141000ks, all standard, apart from set of tein adjustable suspension, and 17" bbs wheels, black colour, tidy interior, now considering to sell it and move on to new model, jzx110 etc... Wondering how much da car may worth, so I can work out the rest amount i need for the new one. Will be pleased if anyone can give a quote. Cheers

Your probably better off taking 'da' car to a dealership to be valued?

What its "worth" and what you will get for it are two different things. You wont know how much you will need to upgrade until:
A) You have found a new one and what it is going to sell for and,
B) You sell yours.

A dealer migh give you either a trade in price or a market value, but neither of those are going to be money in your pocket to put towards the next car.

You can always carjam it and get a turner's auction evaluation, doesn't really take too much innto account except km's and recent auctions of that type of car...

From what I have seen JZX's seems to fluctuate in price, could be anywhere between 4-8k if you can find the right buyer. I sold a mint JZX100 MK2 (1JZGE) a couple of years ago for 6.5k and believe I was lucky to get that much...

Or put it on trademe for $1 reserve, that will show the current market value...

Depends who's giving the valuation, a buyer, or a valuer. In this case, hes looking for a quote (which I read as a valuation) Unless the valuer is offering to buy the car at the price they give, that price is wothless, but is in most peoples eye's "what its worth".

tourer s = vvti 1jzge
same trim level as the tourer v, drive line ( a341a trans and different diff ) and brakes are different

hi km's

best estimate would be 6g to 9g no more no less

tourer v on the other hand or a jzx110 ir-v 14g to 22 hands down for both manual and auto

cheaper to do a vvti 1jzgte and r154 swap, bolt in and away you go 8) trust me on that

thanks all of your opinions and advices above, I will be trying to put the car on the market if I had enough time to clean it up(get it wax) and take some photos. However, I just want to know the brief price range about the car before I did it, as the new one I'm looking for at the moment, is $14990.00 and I really want to know how big is the gap between. If most people think it worthless, I would just keep it rather than push myself too hard for another 7 or 8 thousands or more, if the common opinions think it worth half of the new car price, then I maight sell it or trade to dealer.Cheers

its a hard one man
jzx100's are not that popular in new zealand, ( imo this is a very very good thing and i may be wrong on that, just going on what i see on car yards and trademe etc ) and the turboed jzx90/100/110 hold there price very very well ( again auto and manual ones )

and the 1jzge/2jzge ones dont move that well/fast, if you get my drift, just manily due to the price that people and dealers want for them

i would bet on a 8g difference to be complety honest, im no car dealer, but going on market value its about right

also you can still pick up a jzx90 mark II/crest/chaser 1jzge for around the 4 to 6k mark with about the same k's on the clock....jzx90 chassis is 90% identical to the Jzx100

i dont know man you just have to test the waters/market and adjust from there
