Its just occoured to me that the supercar scene at the moment seems to be about the Japanese, the Germans and the Italians....

Maybe the Axis won after all! :o
Motorsport is like sex. You could take it to track and have a long, enjoyable session, or you could take it to the strip and get it over with in less than 20 seconds.

Yes I have, thanks to page 1 of this thread :P

Edit: Ok wow, didn't see that... Thats pretty shocking.

Hiromu Nasure dead.... He's been with Toyota for years, performing testing on their cars, from the AW11, to the 2000GT and the Toyota 7 racer.... Such an unfortunate loss.

There seems something ironic about a man who's sole job was to thrash the tits off development cars and mules on the racetrack on a near weekly basis for decades, dying on a public road in a common road accident.

who knows, maybe he considered the LFA 'perfection' and was thinking to himself "I have driven the best toyota can do. I can die happy."

Reports claim that all involved were wearing helmets at the time of the crash.

I like this explanation. I think he would be happy dying doing what he loved best!

RIP.

begs the question, how safe is this toyota super car,
the crash didn't look that catastrophic yet both in the LFA die,
remember when that lambo crashed at the track not a year ago and the two Asian people just walked out with just shock and scratches,

of cause this is just ramblings and we wont know till the report comes out, or if toyota will buy the silence or will they remember a great man,

Yeah, I'd say it's because the airbags had been disabled (had just been at, or going to the 'Ring), not to mention he was 60-something years old, maybe his body couldn't handle that sort of shock. You can pretty clearly see the CF cabin is pretty much intact, sure, a little crumpled, but the cabin seems to have kept it's shape well.

The story I read mentioned that the LFA swerved on to the wrong side of the road, so perhaps a medical event could have been the cause, or contributed to his death as well.
