It wouldnt have made any difference if there was only two of them.

I took that as they were sitting on someone's lap in the front seat.

not disputing the fact the car was mangled, but the by the time the news agency gets there, the fire service has already had a pretty good go at cutting the car, which sometimes makes things look alot worse than the actual accident...

as far as the incident goes, when will people start to realise its not just the police they are annoying and the residents.. what about the fire brigade and ambulance staff who have to turn up, who usually and in no disrespect to police staff at all, have to deal with far worse when it comes to crashes - ie; being in backseat of the vehicle stablising someones head when your chopping the metal from around them while they are screaming in pain..

its not just the police these guys are against or the justice system, they are against EVERYONE.

Why don't they change the law so that anyone who kills someone whilst running from po;ice is charged with murder?, its basicly the same as waving around a loaded gun

+1 for this.

It's manslaughter if you kill someone in a car by accident isn't it? At least most of the time?

So if you're actually running from police, everything gets steps up a notch, which should include the punishment if you kill someone, or worse.

Funny that this time around police are still investigating whether they were boy racers or not. Seems like they're only definitely boy racers from the get-go if they manage to kill a small child

Dhamija said a backseat passenger tried to run away from the crash and was apprehended by a police officer in the restaurant car park. "He was abusing the police saying 'leave me alone you motherf****rs'."

Unless they are being charged under a 'boyracer' law, I don't see why it matters what they might be. Just look at the facts:

Overloaded car
Ran from the police
Crashed and killed passenger

Which part of this situation changes if they are considered a 'boyracer' which is as we all know anyway, a media term.

What i dont understand is they are trying to find out if they were boyracers? What is the definition of a boyracer? And why the $&#$% does it matter if they are or not? If they do get classed as a boyracer does that mean the guy desrved to die?

And the 30 arrested had nothing to do with the new laws they were just being muppets on a motorway they would of got arrested on the 'old' laws

What I dont get, is why is it that so many people are getting hung up on the term 'boyracer'?

Every conversation or article that has that term in it, has people asking what the term boyracer means.

We all know what it means, we can pretty much say that we have all dropped into the class of 'boyracer' at times.

I see that there is a difference between 'hoon' and 'boyracer' yet others say its just age.

My opinion, hoons tend to be, but not limited to older people, that put there foot down from time to time (or even a lot) but thats about where it ends, boy racers tend to be people in, but not limited to, modified japanese cars (often illegal mods), that have little respect for the law, that cruise the streets because they think its cool and because they have nothing better to do. Usually a boy racer is an idiot also.

Just remmeber people, that the term 'boyracer' is a slang term that covers a lot of different groups of peope.

In oz there isnt even a term called "boyracer", everyone is just a hoon, in fact they have "hoon laws" similar to nz's, including crushing cars for repeat offenders...

if you ask me a reckless idiot is a reckless idiot, whatever label you want to put on them...

I agree, what ever name it doesnt matter, you break the law, you have to be prepared to pay the price.
