Christchurch Toyspeeders and Car guys

Postby tsoob » Thu Jul 15, 2010 2:48 pm

Hey Boys and Girls,

As part of D1NZ this year Platinum wheels and s-chassis will be putting together a series of car shows at each event, these will be run alongside the drifting event, but are a separate car show.

We are looking for any cars, JDM or hot rods, muscle cars even motor bikes.

As well as that my flatmates promotions company www.fatcatgigs.com
Are putting together the after parties for each event.

Anyway the purpose of this post it we will be coming down to christchurch in 2 weeks time to do some re-con on the place.

While im down there id like to talk to some of you guys about the car scene down there, maybe meet up for a beer :)

Possibly come see some of the workshops and things like that as well.

If of interest there is club racing on at Ruapuna on 1st August (Sunday)

Maybe not up your alley but a motorsport event none the less, not sure how turn out will be as this is the 1st time they have done a mid winter meet.

Go have a look at Spec Performance, RE Sincllair, NZEFI, and petes customs, always heaps of cool cars parked out side them places plus the cars they work on. Oh and Kelford Cams, would beable to give you some good contacts on all the high end performance cars around ChCh

Jap race would also be another one to talk to.

Not everyone is a young meat head down here that just does skids and cause carnage, there are heaps of very nice cars down here, just have to talk to the wright people. Also the gun city guys with all there gtrs is another option

bling bling and indy cars are big gay 4wd city now days, not worth the gas to go for a look. premium cars is ok but has a dodgy reputation (unsure why, but never heard a good thing about it)

Good point, i've been out of the car scene for a while now (hence the trueno is under lock and key like it has been for a while now)
It's a bit hard to have n input when i don't really daily/regularly drive my car being in storage. I do miss it, but hey that happens from time to time. Wouldn't mind turning up and seeing how differently things are up your way in the car scene compared to down here.
