I'm pretty much in this situation if buyer for my mr2 comes up with the cash this weekend.

Looking at another Celsior.
Also considering aristo, supra, mark II and Chaser.

Seen anything worth buying for $7000 - $9000 post it up!

I'm having a strange Honda fetish atm, I found this and now I really want to buy it.
Although I'm sure the feeling will pass, just like my other car trends, they always do :P

You would think so, but if you have half a brain, can use the interwebz and have some tools, they are just another car.

Our old e36 328i coupe's ABS light came on. Checked the sensors they were ok, pumps seemed to work. Had it plugged in and BMW told us that it needed a new control unit. At a cost of $1500+ gst + stupidly priced labour. Although they knew a guy in TGA that could rebuild it for $700-$800, plus stupidly priced labour. No thanks, we can fix this ourself.

Did some research on the interwebz, turns out the crappy wiring is in this cellophane type material in the control unit (which is just 6 solenoids), over time rather than km's, it cracks and throws the ABS light and the ABS doesn't work.

So we rip out the old shoddy wiring, got some new wire from Dick Smiths for 50 cents, soldered it up. ABS works, light gone.

Been looking at one as a replacement for the levin. You could get an EK9 Type R Civic with lower kms for around the 11k mark.

If you're looking for a DOHC VTEC EK, check out NZ Hondas, they have a few on there.

I'm on there already, Yeah the Type R is a faster car but that doesn't make it better.

The VTiR's have their own appeal.

Don't want to hijack this thread with Honda arguments though.

Yeah but how much of the rest of the problems that may arise are you going to be able to fix with 50cents of DSE wire?

Yeap, I know, was referring to VTiR / SIR (EK4)s. Type Rs are over priced, STI would be way better bang for buck.

the euro r torneos are nice, love the interior and do rev nicely and handle pretty sweet too.

a mate had one and my basically standard gt starlet running 13 psi with front mount and exhaust was quicker. cant recall if it was 2.2 or 2.4 vtec but even though it was a sedan i wasnt overly impressed performance wise
