Anyone seen it at the Airport?
What markings has it got?
Saw it fly over today and wondered WTF it was doing here

We do have a real Air Force. Some people just have their heads so far up their own ass that they can't see it.

That aside you're right on the comment, the C-17's are huge inside. Was well impressed when they threw an Iroquois in the centre a stack of cargo and still had room to sit people down the side comfortably (well as comfortably as you can on cargo seats). That and they're not exactly slow either :)

Most of it is in flying condition, it may come down to the manning to have them flying at all times. But thats not a reflection of the service, rather the money that is invested into it, and who invests the money? The Govt.

Apparently when Helen Clark disbanded the strike squadrons her attitude was that the Air Force is still armed. The Iroquois can still have machine guns outfitted and the P3K's can still drop 1000lb bombs. All seems to come back to Govt as to why people have a poor perception of our armed services, because its not just the Air Force that gets mocked.

I have only been known to have a sense of humour once, that was back in 83, and it only lasted for 2 mins.
