When i was at high school local police brought along an AE82 that had crashed just out of Feilding. It was doing something like 140km/h failed to take a corner and rolled.

I must admit after having a bit of a think about this maybe jail is a good thing? The thing that makes me think it isnt is that he showed a lot of remorse by trying to revive the child after it happened, also there was an article in the press saying that the mother of the child had a meeting with him and found him to be a very nice boy and did show remorse. But in saying that is that really enough not to go to jail if say it was some hat backwards 50cent wanna be drop kick i think i would be the first to say send him to jail and throw away the key.

Lucky im not a judge or whatever

Snap I was about to post the same thing.

If the young fella does jail time I will be really surprised after that slap on the wrist.

She had absolutely zero mitigating factors except a family member involved in the legal process.

The young bloke wasn't drinking. Stopped and performed CPR at the scene until emergency services arrived. Admitted guilt at the earliest possible time.

He is a Boyracer though, shes only a drunk driver, they don't get punished here. Only boyracers deserve to be punished.... you guys should know that by now.

EDIT:

Oh this did make me wonder though....

Steal 14 sheep and jam them in a car.... jail time and have to pay reparation
http://www.stuff.co.nz/national/crime/4 ... car-jailed

Drink, then drive, kill a HUMAN BEING, get community service.... that's it.

Blood boil etc etc.... Maybe in China she would be executed? That's what she deserves.

What a load of crap! she was doing the runners from the cops and crashed into someone and killed them, how is that not murder?. The law needs to be changed so that if you are being chased by police and you kill someone you get at least 10 years.

Wow... 8O looking at those sentences you would think they were crimes committed and sentenced in different countries.

Justice (sentencing) is subject to fashion also?

Technically, its manslaughter, but still pretty disgusting effort.
Pretty much the same as the Silvia driver who hit the kid, except also

-Drink driving
-Running from Police

More crime = Less punishment?

Well if your running from the cops and kill someone it should be murder. the only diffrence between that and shooting someone is the type of weapon used

Murder is when the kill is premeditated. IE you intended to kill someone. Manslaughter is causing death in an accident.

I'm sure the Government are removing accountability at all levels in this country so they can pass more laws in the name of 'public safety'.

Here's an interesting video in terms of sentencing. Most controversial

Was just going to post that link.

That will certainly show the 'boyracers' that they will get punished for killing people while drifting on the streets. Hell, why bother even worrying about the consequences, this was (IMO) going to be a landmark case. But all they managed to do was show the system has no balls at all to punish people not willing to be part of this society.

Modified car,
Drifting on the street,
Kill and injury people,
????
Profit.

Un-fucking-believeable....
