Mcdowels are shit. I use TNL for work and they are not bad either but mainfreight will be the best option.

I'm picking his quote with Mainfreight might be a casual rate.

We use mainfreight at work with great results. We have also used Roadstar (not too bad but not as good as mainfreight) and all our weekly freight from Customs in Aucks comes via PBT who seem to have finally gotten their act together.

Another option is Retko, they seem to have pretty good rates as well. There are a few options, all of the above would be options I would consider.

Sadly island to island is more expensive than intra island. The ferry really kills the cost.

know anyone with a Mainfreight account?
I was quoted $160ish for a gearbox from Mt Manganui to Nelson.
When I did it through our work account, cost $62 inc gst.....

shit me they saw you coming

i can move a 500kg tractor engine from hamilton to gore for around that type of mula

but harlet basicly hit the nail on the head

another good tip is ask long haul car/tractor/boat transporters as they are always looking to full extra space can get stupidly good rates
i shipped all my m-sport ( fenders and bonnet ) gear through a company for around $5

Unless you actually take it in to mainfreight itself, the quote won't be exact. Maybe take it in and get it priced up. Otherwise they are probably just going to quote for worst case scenario.

Mainfreight lost my mates 4age lol.

It was loaded onto the wrong truck; it went from Auckland to Taupo, Taupo back to Auckland (where it was found two days later sitting in a distribution centre), Auckland down to Hamilton, and finally Hamilton to Palmerston North.

The staff were good about it; it was only a week or so late.

company rates are like 50% less or more discounted on what general public prices are.

............. and web estimates are considerably more than what one pays at the depot.
