RX7/Slim engine mounts

Postby KE25-KP30 » Sun Aug 08, 2010 10:19 pm

Hey guys, just looking into options for slim engine mounts being threaded both sides and was wondering if anyone can confirm whether or not early RX7 engine mounts are threaded. Most pictures seem to be that they're not, i.e: Image
but on toycrazy, these are supposed to be RX7 mounts - but threaded?

Otherwise, anyone know of other slim mounts similar - to be used in the same fashion is the second picture.

Cheers,
Kent :)

you can always run a die down an unthreaded stud if you want a thread on it.

Pretty sure RX7 Engine mounts are threaded, the one's in my brothers car are. Failing that, as Malcolm said, use a die.

The ones pictured are 1st gen, but Series 6-8 mounts are definately threaded. and are quite similiar in design.

Ah thought that was the case.

Tsoob, what did want for the pair of mounts?

Failing that, I'll try mount shop or get some cheapies of TM.

Cheers guys.

this might sound odd but try giving mazda a call. I got genuine ones for $25 each. Granted, that was over here in australia, but if toyota is anything to go by, nz is a LOT cheaper with genuine mechanical parts....
