Finally, preventing access to your registration details

Postby Malcolm » Sun Aug 15, 2010 7:19 pm

Just found this on another forum, finally the law has been changed to stop anyone with $10 from finding out the address where your vehicle is registered to

All you have to do is opt out of having your information publicly available, which you can do with the link below

https://transact.nzta.govt.nz/transacti ... entry.aspx

This wont come into effect until after November 1st but you'd might as well do it now

That will be handy for people that register their cars to their house I guess :)

I had to laugh, when you enter the details it lists all cars in your ownership at this time. Funny enough, a certain 1989 Celica rego BPS788 is still in my ownership

Pretty certain its been cut up for parts by now, but i still have the VIN and build plate sitting in my garage, and i know you still had the plates at some point. Really should deregister it, but i usually put it on hold once a year

Does Carjam count as an "authorised" 3rd party? Curious what effect doing this would have on them. Opted out nonetheless.

done my two

anyone know what effect this will have on the likes of vir.co.nz
The four seasons in Australia consist of "$&#$% it's hot", "Can you believe how $&#$% hot it is?", "I won't be in today because it is too $&#$% hot" and "Yes, the dinner plate size spiders come inside to escape from the heat."
