Postby Jooce » Wed Aug 25, 2010 9:43 pm

hey guys

ive got a 1999 carib bz touring and i find the front seats uncomfortable and was wanting to swap over some seats from a levin or trueno because they are more of a bucket seat than the ones i have.. will the front seats from an ae111 or ae101 levin/trueno fit onto my factory seat brackets?? any help appreciated guys thanks

I think they should do, just take out the whole seat , rails included and bolt the new seat with rails in to the mount points, did this in by bros corolla with no probs, corolla seats out , levin seats in. should be able to get the seats pretty cheap, lots of levin's/trueno's getting wrecked atm it would seem. If you have any quams just find someone with a levin and test, 4 bolts in all, take you a few mins and you get peice of mind before you buy!! :)

Have a look at the mounting points.

The picture below shows the mountings off a ae101 or ae111 levin/trueno drivers seat. Maybe check where your seats mount to see if there the same. If they look similar I can give you some measurements to confirm.

I put AE111 levin seats in my Carib (well actually a nz new corolla wagon, but it's the same as carib)

From memory the seats needed a small locating pin cut off and then they bolted in.

NOTE
with these seats I sit about 40mm lower than the factory seat - you will probably be ok with this but just letting you know.
I used to think that the orange and green tictacs gave you special powers. The orange ones would make you stronger and the green ones would make you faster. So i used to eat some green ones and run around my lounge as fast as i could, then eat the orange ones and try to pick up the sofa. I wish it were true!

I had a 1997 Carib BZ-T and put in AE111 Levin/Trueno BZ-G seats in, they bolt straight in no issues, are much firmer, slightly lower and 1000% better.

The levin seats don't look so sporting but in reality they provide a shiteload of support plus being factory you should have no wof issues, mine flew through testing station wof's no questions
