mates 4agte problem

Postby sik_gt_starly » Mon Aug 30, 2010 5:27 pm

Was being driven my a mate in his 4agte ae101 trueno, has recently had some serious coin thrown at it, rebuilt 4agze with basically everything upgraded, g4 link and tuned.

Is basically on its run in tune at the moment, we were driving on 10 psi (low boost) and car seemed to hit a flat spot, lost all power and then died. pulled over on side of road, wouldnt start unless holding foot flat on accelerator and would barely idle, then die when taking foot off accelerator.

No smoke, couldnt see any vacume lines or electronics out of order with a brief inspection of engine bay. not overheating etc

Any ideas what could be wrong? im putting my money on map sensor problem/link not getting the info of air/fuel ratios. however im not all that clued up

Will be trailored back to engine builder/tuner in next few days.

cheers

yep, as above but failing that check your earths, make sure the engine and sensors are getting a good earth signal.

otherwise hook it up to a laptop yourself so you can check that the sensors are working correctly and the ecu is getting the right signals.

Otherwise if you get stuck I don't mind having a look over it if you want another pair of eyes, rather than trailering it to Tauranga.

Do those things have diagnostics in them?

Maybe the computer got itsself screwed up.

diagnostics, yeh.

doubt it will be the ecu itself.

plug laptop in and check as l1ttle_d3vil says. will soon narrow it down.
first thing id check is the map sensor reading if all hoses are in place
