Hondata CRX goes 207mph

Postby maddog » Wed Sep 01, 2010 8:40 pm

Honda news but still relevant for us low-cap people I think...

Just saw an article on Close up about a kiwi chick driver hitting 207mph in a CRX with a supercharged 1.5L apparently pushing out over 500hp.

Seems pretty far out to me but there you go.

I think its a destroked k20. It has to be a 1500cc for the class of racing they are in. Something like that anyway.

She is Miriam MacMillian (her husband has achieved over 200mph too)

Engine is 1.5ltr Super charged putting out something like 540hp

She achieved 207mph or 333kmh & ran over 200mph a couple of times during the week.

(just watched the close up clip online)

I have a feeling they're using a rotrex supercharger in it.

I might be wrong though

At a guess, they're probably geared differently. They're centrifugal ones, so one will be to make the power at lower RPM so theres enough to drive the other one at higher RPM. Like a twin turbo setup
