Give me some ideas

Post by thornz »

Have about 12k to spend on a new (used car). Must have 4 doors, and be reasonably practical, but I dont want some nanna spec suzuki, must at least have some balls, 2L minimum. For taht money the fastest car I can find is a twin turbo legacy, but am a bit worried about the 'issues' that everyone seems to say they have. What are some other options? Have considered a 3 series BMW, but need to look into expenses of running one (more so when things go wrong). Another that I quite like that is a bit out of the price range is the newer Caldina GT4's, but know nothing about them at all, anyone had experience with these?

What are some other intersting options for a family sized car, that still has some go when I get into some twistys?

Mazda 3 SP23, -first series in auto with around 100k will be in your budget, or high k's manual would be good.

Lol, links galore! All good though!

From teh ones above:

-Not a fan of Falcons, Commodores myself unless they are newer V8's
-Not allowed a WRX, fiance says they just scream 'look at me I've got a small dick'
-Alfa, would love one, but too scared to gamble on one, much like a RX8
-Mazda SP23, possible, would be wanting a turbo one though, which are at this stage still a little pricey
-That Beemer is pretty awesome, but perhaps a bit too bargy for my liking
-Caldinas, could consider one, but still prefer teh newer shape ones

So I guess you could say I (along with the other half) am a fussy bugger
