Hey guys,

Going to look at some portfolio's at a few tattoo places around Wellington this weekend.
Anyone recommend anywhere/anyone especially?
Prefer in the CBD area but it's not that big of a deal if i have to catch a bus around.

Tattoo Freaky in Waterloo is my preferred option. Got my sleeve done there by Michelle but shes in OZ now. If you want a crap job but cheap go to Tattoos by Mark in Upper Hutt, if you want a good job and what you would expect to pay, go to Tattoo Freaky in Waterloo, Tattoo City on Cuba St, or head to Pram and see Vaughan. Cant remember what the shop is called but its on the main road.

Mixed reviews on the net about tattoo city. I will have a look anyway.

only walked past there, never been in but i have heard good things. Just stay away from tattoos by mark in upper hutt and envisage tattoo in alicetown and you will be sweet lol

Yeah its not an intricate piece or anything. Just 2 lines of text on my thigh. Its just the font is really straight and i know it will annoy me if i get it done and its not real straight. You know? lol

ive seen mixed work from tattoo freaky, but they seem to be improving.

roger is one of the original wellington tattoists, his work is top notch.

Just read on the net roger retired end of last year. Some other guy now tattoos from his shop.

Oh thats a shame, he did my "rota" tattoo a few years back. Lol, he did my ex gf's one at the same time, he went off at her cos she kept squirming :lol:

Tom tatoos at rogers. Hes all good but it all depends what you want mate. I had a couple of my tats done at Tatoo city 3-4years ago by dan who now owns a shop in mana. Them my left sleve i had recently by Gill at Jackson street tatoo (Formerly Manu Tatoo) on Jackson Street

Went into tattoo city today. I was pretty impressed. Got a quote etc. Still want to have a look at a few others. Rogers wasn't open today. Might have a look next week. Otherwise i will book mine in with tattoo city late next week.

i dont reccoment tatoo city and all the guys that have left there dont reccomend people going back. If your seeing kyle there you are all good but im not too sure about the others.

But once again it all comes down to what you want ...

Got it done yesterday. I was nervous but once he started i was like oh thats all good. I was overestimating the pain a bit lol. Although i can imagine on a collar bone or similar would be a b*tch.

I'm pleased with the results and definitely recommend kyle. My girlfriend went and booked hers in today. She feels better about it now after watching me go through the process.
