Hey just wondering im putting a 1uz into my laurel, was wondering what gearbox would be up to the job and are any bolt on jobs or do they need custom bell housings?
It will be getting a bit of abuse and may end up twin turbo later on still undecided on that though

Theres no bolt up manual boxes for 1UZ, most people use W55/7/8 or R154 + A1 Turbo's bellhousing.
Probably better to go R154 if its going turbo.

R154 is probably the best way to go if you plan on giving it a beating. Mate's 3UZ Hilux wrecked a W58 after a couple of years, and it was just a tow vehicle
