Windows phone 7 is launched on October 11 - just a few days away.

The HTC HD7 looks like a decent bit of kit, who knows when it'll be available in NZ though. If I was telecom I'd be all over WP7 like a rash, but they'll miss the boat as usual I assume. They should have TV ads out for it already, but no. fail.

You should add some HTC phones to the list above. The current best reviewed phones on tech blogs around the net are iPhone and HTC Desire HD.

No HTC Desire? This poll is fail.
Motorsport is like sex. You could take it to track and have a long, enjoyable session, or you could take it to the strip and get it over with in less than 20 seconds.

I think the poll is asking for "second best next to the HTC Desire".

I'm thinking that he wants it on a plan to get a discount.
So he should really have the Nexus there

There was no Desire there so I had to vote for Iphone - After a Desire I would have to say I'd own an Iphone, After an Iphone I'd have to say I wouldn't own a phone.

QFT. And I never do that.

Still, this is a question with no answer because the "best" really depends on who you are and what you want it for.

I have an iPhone and love it for the gadget it is, however if you want something that works really well as a phone, dont get an iPhone IMO. Its a pretty average phone, poor recpetion and it feels clumsy using it as a phone. Everything else about it is pretty amazing, as a gaming, interweb, email gadget etc, its brilliant, i usually find myself using it instead of the desktop at home these days, but as above, not the best phone in the world, my 6 year old sharp was a better phone for calls.

Telecom are not participating in the WP7 launch. Telecom will look at it early next year.
I haven't had this one confirmed - but it looks like Vodafone are the same.
