Cam Cover

Postby Emz » Mon Oct 11, 2010 12:28 pm

Just wondering what to do with my clear cam cover.

This is it at the moment:

The original plan was to paint it (except for the bit at the end over the cam gears) and then peel the supra logo sticker off so that the logo would be see-through.

I kinda don't wanna do that anymore coz I like the look of it like this. Though I don't really like the look of whats underneath it.

I'm wondering if I should leave it as it is with the white supra logo, OR paint it and peel off the logo, OR add some extra white decals to distract from the stuff under it.

Possible decals would be:

White Angel and devil pics that I have on my calipers and sounds light feature:

This could tie the theme into the engine bay.

Or just a white Toyota logo at the front:

(pic in case you don't know what the Toyota logo looks like  )

leave it and perhaps add a toyota logo in front of the 'supra', as its not quite in the middle of the whole thing.

then if you want to go OTT, backilight with a few blue neons like your stereo. it will look sex. 8)

has been done before. an old lecturer of mine made a glass engine when he worked at lotus to research injector spray patterns. was single cylinder and could rev to 5500rpm. pity there aren't any images online of it it was quite impressive.

this + angel/devil decals

since you carried this theme to your sound install you have to put it in the engine bay too, (keep in mind, dont go toooooo overboard with this much more though)

+1 for this

Clear looks quite cool, i'm sure you can work some magic on the parts underneath to make it even better.

Having said that, I also think it would look sweet with the cam wheel part clear and the rest painted to suit your colour scheme with or without toyota/supra logos.

I voted leave it but if you decide to paint it.. paint the underside like the clear RC car bodies.
