i'm sure OS giken japan would be more than happy to help you out. they have plenty of experience in circuit racing. or are you looking to use someone elses setup to get an idea of what is best?

Hollenger are far more common, but for dearer too i believe.

I know a guy down here in my class has a Silvia race car with a sequential that is not a hollenger. It came from japan, and was either a OS or a HKS box from memory?

Also there was also another japanese sequential box floating around down here that was damaged and has had a few owners, but never got repaired as the parts for it were either not available or it was cheaper to get another box.

Maybe it's just a sequential shifter?

Really that not what a friend of mine was told who has just gone and brought a Hollinger

I was under the impression from them that HKS buy all the internals form Hollinger and then just fit there own casing, but HKS only use the Hollinger baby box not the V8 supercar spec one

This being the one HKS use:

http://www.holinger.com.au/product_page ... ytype=Rear Wheel Drive Gearboxes

With there own casings

This being the V8 one:

The HKS Boxs are crap, ask Mad Mike, his has shat its self at least 3 or 4 times now

Saft if Hollinger doesn't build the HKS tranmissions who does?

Hks sequentials are 5 speed arent they? And yes they are crap. I have heard hks has them manufactured in china but not sure if true.

I have a hks copy of hollinger 6 speed h pattern dog box in my car. I remember reading online that hks purchased the first 50 or so dog boxes off hollinger and then started making their own very similar version.

Hollinger no longer ship h pattern boxes for gtr's

Um I think it depends on the model of HKS box, because the ones they were doing for the FD were defantly a 6 speed Greenline advertise the Silva ones as either a 5 or 6 speed so not sure

Would be intresting to find out more, but I doubt HKS would be very forth coming with information

V8supercar box is a baby hollinger box, they do higher rated boxes than the v8supercar one, as used by many GT1 competitors worldwide as I know from experience you can easily destroy a v8supercar spec hollinger if you apply a fair bit more torque to it than a v8supercar produces(Think 7L+V8 as opposed to 5LSupercar)
