R154 Remote shift

Postby Jebus » Mon Oct 11, 2010 9:51 am

Is it possible to take an older non-remote R154 and switch the rear case/remote shifter from a jzx100 onto it?

It is possible on the w58s etc, it swaps straight over same as swapping shifter positions - the only problem is that the bottom brackets for the remote shifter cage thing are missing from the rear housing of a non remote box, they are kinda needed but easy to make up and alloy weld, or build into box mount.

Hopefully same story for r154!

After a bit of itnernet reading, im pretty sure nearly all of the rear housings and shifters interchange.

Except some earlier ones have slightly different bolt patterns on top.
