anything missing on my list?

Postby GT101 » Fri Oct 15, 2010 10:42 pm

just got a few questions about a project that ive wanted to do for various reasons and hoped you guys could help a little?

which is a el44 cynos 5efhte setup

going to start a build thread once ive found a suitable cynos, but need to make sure ive got the right parts list.Done alot of researching on this forum and others but want to double check.

el44 cynos with 5efthe doesnt matter if auto as conversion is easy az.
-turbo?dunno yet
- decompression plate maybe?
-manifold
- 4efte map sensor
- 4efte pistons
- 4E-FTE sump
- Oil Filter Mount
- 295cc Injectors/or bigger?
- 4E-FTE Thermostat housing and thermostat
- oil lines for what ever turbo i choose
- 4efte manual ecu
-front mount+ piping 2inch or 2 1/4?
- 2 1/2 inch exhaust etc

my main question is what can a factory 4efte ecu handle turbo wise , ive been thinking tdo4 or t25 size to start with and run moderate boost until upgrade to a aftermarket ecu.

im pretty sure ill need these for that setup:

boost cut defender as the cut out etc is 1 bar as i remember
4efte injectors 295 cc may need an upgrade to???
afc?

might have missed a few things or have wrong combo?

any advise would be sweet.

I personally wouldn't even bother with the stock 4EFTE ECU. It's designed to run a 4EFTE not a higher compression + larger displacement engine.

You're going to find some much more useful info browsing starlet forums.

Check out the boards at toyotagtturbo.com too, that's the largest community dedicated to the e series engines.

High compression 5e's are capable of quite a bit so long as you get the tune right. Doing so with a 4efte ecu will be difficult. Money is much better spent on an ecu than on 4efte pistons.

Finx's ep71 has to date run many low 13's on a standard ct9 on an unopened 5efhe, just how fast do you want to go?

sweet will check out that site aswell

im aiming for 200hp approx to start with , but wanting it to run good is more important than how fast i want to go.

Ive scored(in december) a gx81 manual chaser that i might put up for sale to fund it if i have to.

ive sussed most the parts on the list except the turbo setup, so got to decide what i want to do there.

what a are vf10 turbos like? just wondering as i found one at work that seems to be in good condition.

Haha just reading this old post, and years later I'm trying again. Bring on round two.

This time I've got a 94 beta model with better black interior.

Ah it's good to be back

Had too much rust, sold to a guy involved with d1nz, so probably ended up getting some love in the end.
