Getting off topic lol: The pads I pulled out of my GTT were labeled 'Pit Worx' and they were friggen awesome.

The TGP pads I replaced them with have been anything but (at least after 800km). I'm getting the rotors machined on Thursday & new brake fluid - hopefully that will fix'em.

Driving a windy road through Dairy Flat to Waimauku & not exactly pushing it I came up to a stop sign - but the car wouldn't stop & ended overshooting the intersection lines by a few feet.

If you take out launches what is the point going to drags?

I thought we'd covered this; for a bit of fun with my mates. Get to open the car up without worrying about police, pedestrians or elderly drivers.... :D

There always be someone who is faster/consistent than you.

So? Beats sitting at home or in a bar watching tweens get hammered.

There will always be people better than me at a lot of things; squash, tennis, mountain biking, driving around Hampton Downs etc and it doesn't stop me.
Plus it'll be fun to see what the car can do (even without a launch) - especially with all the inconsistent opinions on this forum. I'm real curious now.

I found stock TGP pads to be mud compared to the pads I was replacing too. Will not buy them again. Brand new TGP pads and rotors for less performance... :roll: I'd always chuck some uprated pads in from now on. Or the same cheap pads I got off Dellorto which are better than TGP too... go figure.

You should have had the rotors done at the same time as pads really though. But I don't think it will make the pads perform any better :?


As for hitting the drag strip, good on ya. You will find that a majority of the people that talk the talk never put their time slip where their mouth is. I found this when I used to have a go at the drags. People would hassle my times, but never step up and race me. Pussies. Hell, my car isn't even fast. :lol:

I found that my EVO needed reving to 7K and letting the clutch out quickly. Running a stock clutch gave it enough slip to feel very comfortable and no shock loading that I could feel. Heating the clutch up on that car is bad as it doesn't work well at all when warm... so riding it is a no no.
That got me a 1.9 60' and I would assume that other stock 4WDs would launch similarly ...so I guess I agree with everything that Malcolm has said based on my experience.

On my ST205 I found TGP pads very good on the track (and on the road of course).
