can you quote the relevant section from the Wof manual to back up your assertion... I also think you are incorrect.

This is directly from the WoF manual -

Note LVV certification is not required where the only modification is the removal of seats and/or seatbelts. However, a class change and a new load rating may be required in some cases.

The WoF guy wanted my belts removed because the rear seat was taken out, NZTA confirmed that the belts were required to stay even with no seats unless the seat was permanently removed. It was first registered here in late 2002 and has airbags.

Not sure when that wording changed, I haven't got the old VIRM on this computer but should have it at home so will have a dig around. I got pulled up on this at a WoF 3 years ago and that was when I got it confirmed with the LTSA. My backseat is literally 4 nuts and it is out, makes for much more room for the dogs. The seatbelts tuck down under the floor, had the WoF man jumping up and down when I went for the recheck about a year ago with them tucked away and the rubber mat over top of them and had to pull them all out again to show him they were still there. Normally I pull the mat out and clip all the belts together so they can see they are there and working as it maks life easier.

So, less than an hour after my last message, that stated I'd had my car information changed, the WOF guy pinged me for not having back seats. LOL, I told him that VTNZ were supposed to change my car to a 2 seater, as that was my easiest option, it obviously wasn't done, as when he looked up my car, it didn't say 2 or 4 seater. *Sigh*
