Taupo would be awesome for next year :)

Ahh now that brings back memories of the original Toyspeed 'megamets'... or as they were called back then Queens Birthday trackday weekend.

If you want it in Taupo just be prepared for the track entry to be nearly twice the price as it costs nearly twice as much as Manfeild to hire. :)

Pleased you all had a great weekend.

cost of the trackday is meh by the time you add up the amount everyone spent on getting their cars ready and getting to whereever it is.

if anything taupo will be more central for a lot of north islanders and the more expensive trackday will even out with not having to travel so far to get there.

atleast on taupo 20v's might be able to keep up with a few more cars through the twisties! manfeild does not favour the underpowered much...

Huge thanks to everyone that organised/helped out on the day.

Had a great time.

Special mention goes to touge_ae101 and a few others for helping with last minute front pipe change on the Skyline. Awesome stuff.

Most of that spent on gas trying to get the surf off that little bit of grass Andrew? :D

Least the Corolla was cheap to run...

dyno proved that the Surf is too powerful - 77kW and 874Nm!
by the time you add up a couple of tanks of diseasel, trackday entry, dyno, karting, food + drink, fuel for racing, motel etc it can add up pretty quickly

We did about 1500km this weekend. Not as much as the CHCH and the Whangarei peoples though I think :?

my costs were like this

trailer hire: $80 (with $200 deposit)
from empty, tank of fuel for tow vehicle: $160
from empty, tank of fuel for mx5: $55
food, drink, misc: $30
trackday: $85

so $410 for the trackday alone. Granted, $240 was for the cost of trailering the car but id rather be safe than sorry and having the trailer lets you thrash the crap out of the car, hah.

you dont know the meaning of underpowered

i spent about 600 but the old man paid for most of my gas witch was quite alot, the 4k 4speed uses alot of gas cursing or accelerating or attempting to get up hills

but was worth every bit.

I allow about $500 for every time I visit the track.

It looks like I ate about 1/2 of my Mintex brake pads which is $500/2 alone there, plus tyres, accommodation, a tank of gas for the tow vehicle..

Blah why couldn't I be interested in flying kites!

the 20v was pretty good on fuel for the weekend.

$215 covered fuel from Auckland and back.

On the trip down I managed 6.71L/100km.

The 80km I did on the track I managed 21.08L/100km. 8O

I stopped counting @ 1k  Managed to get 12.5km/L for the trip up and back though, though my suspension is probably shagged from all the shit roads :?

Just shy of 1500km for me I think, Tyler will take the prize for most mileage for sure from Invercargill 8O
