IH8TEC's old car - what happened to it?!?!

Postby XSVWGN » Mon Oct 25, 2010 10:47 pm

http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motor ... 428183.htm

A guy i know went to test the car out today and he got it offered to him for $6500! brendon was trying to sell it for $13,500 about 6 month ago.

Aparently it stauls at intersections, its very crunchy going into gears and needs a rebuild!

What happened to this car?!?! it was such a mint car and now its $&#$%! Such a pitty to see such a mean car going to waste

yea I saw it the other week and was wondering why it was suspiciously low priced. It was an awesome car but it looks like it was sold to a muppet who just wanted to thrash it until it was broken.

hmmm, yeah, i was told by bazz it was up for sale again.

the guy put some stupid magnitec oil in it when i told him what to run, apparently it started smoking LOTS,

He also changed the gearbox oil in it to the TRD stuff, it NEVER crunched when i owned it and i used the lightweight shockproof oil which saved that gbox i'm sure. Told me it was the wrong stuff because it was for dog box's or something.

Apparently it's full of rust so he says, when there was very minimal when i had it, there was a couple of little spots.

It's a shame to see the car kinda gone to waste, i can imagine a bunch of it would be slavageable, but yeah,

I guess thats one thing when you sell a car..... :?

sucks to see its condition go down hill so quick since it was sold. I know Brendon put a lot of time and money into the car.. and it had potential to get some very quick times at tracks and strips around the country..

My Corolla is for sale, 154kw atw for $4500.
Its not mod plated for the turbo though.

Other reason, in Australia, P-platers(restricted drivers) can't drive turbo.
And if you could drive a turbo, you probably wouldn't be driving a Corolla.
I iz stuck.

I thought so, theres a drag strip here that i attend regularly.
Runs 13's which is pretty reasonable I guess.
Lots of interest but everyone keeps offering to trade cars.
Meh I'll get rid of it one day.

Brendon, since you got a van already, why not put a 1uz in that.. I know of a project with a 1uz in a bongo, its tight but it works ;)

Also just finished wiring a 1uz into a hilux, it goes very nice/fast..

Yes i do infact know who owns it. He did mention someone came to test drive it and the clutch went at the end of the test drive. I know he thrashes the $&#$% out of it tho.

Saddest thing is he is an apprentice mechanic...
